Adjacent to Rodina, there is another movie theatre named Dom Kino. 'Dom Kino' means 'House of Cinema' in the Russian language. But perhaps the name 'Palace of Cinema' might be more apt for a building with such majestic interiors. The beige-themed lounge is spacious and the chandeliers give it a royal punch. Dom Kino plays mostly European movies and some Russian movies. As with any theatre (or palace), it also has several halls with different sitting capacities. The big hall might give a pure cinematic experience but the small hall provides a rather cosy experience. It can accommodate 24 persons and has comfortable leather sofas. It feels like watching a movie in your living room. But the viewing experience was unfortunately not perfect: the LCD projector has an average resolution and the light reflection on the beige walls was distracting. Nevertheless, it can be a good experience for a small group to watch a movie together. After the movie ends, you can grab a latte, an espresso or some doughnuts from the cinema-themed café on the third floor.
