The State Russian Museum is the world's largest museum of the Russian art, a unique complex in the historic center of St. Petersburg: over 400,000 exhibits it holds the single largest collection of Russian art work in the world, housed across four resplendent locations, the Mikhailovsky Palace, the Stroganov Palace, the Marble Palace and the Castle of St. Michael, with a branch in Malaga (of all places) to boot. With a collection of works ranging from 10th century iconography to contemporary figurative art, the Russian Museum corpus is not only expansive, but dizzyingly diverse.
