One of the reasons that we love our city so very much is that there’s so much to see and do beyond the center. Whether you like architecture, history or nature – there’s definitely a suburb for you that will make for a great day trip!
If you’d like to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, there are many places in St. Petersburg’s suburbs that can offer an escape! All can be reached by train or minibus from the city centre. Take a quiet walk around the gardens at Tsarskoe Selo, visit the ‘Russian Versailles’ at Peterhof to see the impressive fountains, see the artist Repin’s estate, or stroll along the beaches of the Gulf of Finland. You can even explore the less touristy places, such as Oranienbaum, with its peaceful gardens, or Pskov, for some fresh air in medieval Russia.
