Willem van Kuienberg created this sober war monument on the Ingenhouszstraat not long after World War II ended. The war monument is a half-round brick wall with a sandstone sculpture in the middle. The wall’s ends descend into staircases and the sculpture depicts two people standing back to back, arms stretched out. The original heads of both figures were destroyed by vandals, but were later replaced.
