Trajectum Lumen is an illuminated night time walking tour that covers many of Utrecht's most remarkable sights, buildings, bridges and other exceptional spots creating beautiful visual art for all to behold. The 19th attraction was recently unveiled at one of the city's most attractive and as yet undiscovered locations. LED lighting illuminates the Pausdam and university buildings. The light show on the historic buildings creates the illusion that the buildings have almost come to life. This experience is reinforced by two digital plaques which depict a barn owl and a dove, symbolising wisdom and peace. Although not all of the light attractions are as spectacular as its website (www.trajectumlumen.nl) claims, the route serves as a beautiful walking route for an evening stroll and it's a great way to see the city's most interesting sights from a different perspective. Every Saturday night at 20:30 a guide takes people from VVV Domplein on a special night tour. Along the way you'll encounter artistically illuminated bridges, churches and canals. Tours are arranged by the VVV office (Tourist Information Office): infovvv@toerisme-utrecht.nl or (+31) 302 36 00 00.
