Two words: Bakery Heaven. A refuge for all who love the smell of freshly baked loaves, scrumptious biscuits and a good coffee to go along with them. You won’t find the cream drenched creations so common in other bakeries here; this is a real French-style bakery with all the traditional treats, including flaky croissants and tender macarons. Word on the street is that all the five star hotels in the city order pastries and bread from Garcon, and it’s really not hard to see why. Go on, have another almond croissant! Also at Ul. Razyezzhaya 41(metro Ligovsky pr.) and pr. Kosmonavtov 14 (metro Park Pobedy).
Fabulous. Just mind you go to the right Garcon. there's a place of the same name on the same street - maybe a restaurant run by the same folks - that most certainly wasn't what I was looking for. I went a bit further (away from the square) up the street and found the bakery. 300 rubles bought two excellent apple pastries and a decent cappuccino. A great place.
