Nestled in the foyer of what was once upon a time the historic Grand Hotel du Nord and conveniently located just across the street from Moskovsky train station, this cafe offers a perfect reprieve for the weary traveller. The mid-century-esque furniture is perhaps a bit jarring when combined with the high ceilings and art nouveau cornicing, but most eyes are usually directed outwards at the bustling city street. As well as cakes, pastries and zillions of types of coffee, you can also get huge baguette sandwiches and other more filling snacks before or after a long journey. Also at Kirochnaya ul. 26.
