Tucked away below street level, this charming gallery displays influential and exciting work. Heavily featured are the works of avant-garde and academic artists and has a deservedly high reputation in the city. Various mediums are displayed, including paintings, graphics, and applied art. Go left and you’ll also find a cave like room stuffed with trunks of classic domestic and international DVDs which the staff are willing to burn for you for a small fee and a shockingly cheap coffeehouse/café where the beatniks of a bygone era might still be spotted. Go right (don't forget to duck!) and you'll see several more galleries, plus a bookstore selling primarily local art books, periodicals, postcards and even original works. The women who staff the shop may not speak English, but they're patient and will do their best to help.
