dB’s is a place in Utrecht where weekly more then 250 (!) bands practice in making music in seventeen well-heated, well-ventilated, and well-insulated studios, seven days per week. The canteen is friendly, and offers a wide assortment of drinks, including free tea and coffee. The service desk sells supplies such as plectrums, strings, batteries and the likes. Moreover, you can rent cymbals, a piano, synthesizer, guitar and a bass guitar. Within dB’s, Foundation Ruis manages an independent pop podium with an (inter)national live programme which varies from modest singer-songwriters to hellish metal, and everything in-between. For a small amount of money, you can discover bands here, before they get big, attend the monthly Club3voor12/Live and dance to, amongst others, DJ DNA.
