Utrecht has more than 15 museums, which together draw over 850,000 visitors every year. Yet many Dutch people (and tourists) are not aware of how much variety the city has to offer. Therefore the museums in Utrecht recently decided to pull together and increase the knowledge about and appeal of Utrecht as a museum-city, by presenting a common logo and website (www.museautrecht.nl) to the outside world. All museums in Utrecht are within 15 minutes walking distance of Utrecht Central Station. From the Central Station bus number 2 leaves five times per hour to the Museumkwartier where most of the museums are located. Plus, every hour a special train leaves Utrecht Central Station for the Spoorwegmuseum (railway museum). Because the museums are all located in and around the historic city centre of Utrecht, it is not always possible to find a parking space near the entrance. You can park your car in one of the parking garages on the edge of the city centre. The Spoorwegmuseum has its own parking lot, and for the Geldmuseum (money museum) you can park at the Jaarbeurs. You could also try the park + ride locations outside the city centre. These always have space and public transport into the city centre is included in your parking ticket.
