This theatre and music festival, which takes place in various locations throughout the city, opens the festival season in Utrecht every year. When this guide went to print, hardly anything was known about the programme yet, but descriptions like 'a combination of hip hop, break dance and documentary theatre' by the Argentinian choreographer Constanza Macras, or 'the performance is a venting of built up frustrations' by the Canadian Dave St-Pierre indicate an international and avant garde theme. You need to buy tickets for most of the theatrical performances, but the musical programme on the central square De Neude is free. Promising, up-and-coming Dutch pop artists perform will also here. It's not exactly an intellectual experience and mostly resembles a huge street party, but we have nothing against that.
