Located in a modern suburb of Utrecht, the Leidsche Rijn statue garden was opened in 2009. Its collection consists of seven large sculptures from internationally celebrated artists. The garden's design is based on a French book that emphasises hope and the quest for love. The green heart of Utrecht’s newest district is also supposed to symbolise dreams and fantasies. The Terwijde station is within walking distance of the park and you can take a long stroll (6 km, 1.5 hours) or a shorter walk (4 km, 1 hour) among its statues.
