Utrecht boasts a number of multicultural districts where the majority of their residents are of foreign descent and the location of this B&B is a prime example. The Turkish owners of Kilim decorated their two rooms with interesting design elements representing a mix of cultures. The Dutch influence is apparent in the outdated furniture that was no doubt acquired at a local flea market. The colourful decoration is typically Turkish in style and this is especially evident in the shared kitchen. The shower and toilet are also shared, but the journey back in time and the genuine hospitality of the hosts make up for the slight inconvenience.
