Many Utrechters are a bit uneasy when it comes to squatters. Prejudices prevail. But a pub with an adjoining nightclub such as ACU, which was started decades ago in a squatted car workshop, shows that this fear is unfounded. ACU has delicious and cheap organic beer, an eccentric concert programme (punk, queer nights, chiptune, etc.) and a great atmosphere. The only downside: there's no supervised cloakroom and things do get stolen, so keep an eye on your things, or someone might squat in your new coat.
