To do in Croatia: Your Monthly Guide - October

23 Sep 2024
In cooperation with the museum of the city of Šibenik, Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb is preparing an exhibition of the Renaissance master, engraver and goldsmith Oracio Fortezza. Oracio’s works such as trays, pots, bowls… have been an incredible contribution to Croatian Renaissance heritage, thus earning a high status in artistic craftmanship. The full range of his life works and achievements will be presented from September 10 – November 10.

Mara Bratoš is a highly talented and academically trained Croatian photographer who, through her art, expresses and explores different life cycles and phases as well as the passage of time itself and the traces it leaves behind. Her exhibition at Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb from October 10 – November 24 will take us through a retrospective view of her life’s work.

The “Ceremony” project explores the social status of women in Croatia through the statistics of the winners of the Vladimir Nazor lifetime achievement award and the symbolism of crystal objects. This award was often given to women, and the crystal was passed down from mothers to daughters. The project will present various interesting and interactive workshops where visitors will have the opportunity to try engraving crystal objects. The workshops are open for anyone interested from October 15 – November 3 at the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb.
