1928 A pharmacy called "Kaštel" moved to Zagreb from Karlovac. In 1945 it was renamed "Pliva" – Croatia’s most famous pharmaceutical company, bought by GSK in 2006.
1941 The big Rebro hospital in Zagreb was built.
1957 The first indoor swimming pool in Croatia opened, in Zagreb.
