Brooding above Zagreb, the Sljeme Peak on Mount Medvednica (nature park) is great for the possibility of choosing more or less demanding trails that children can also do as well as simply spending time outdoors. Although in winter time it is great for skiing, spring is more time of hiking and checking interesting spots. Medvedgrad is an old abandoned castle with a legend of the Black Queen (long story, but surely read about it), currently under construction. Veternica cave and Zrinski mine can be visited on weekends from 10:00 to 16:00 and, after walking, you can eat a fine home-cooked lunch in one of the mountain huts. The cable car is under construction, the bus is at the end of tram line 15 (Bottom): take tram no. 8 or 14 to Mihaljevac, then change to no.15 - or take your car to the top.
