The quaintly named village of Boks-Rrjolla on the eastern side of the Viluni lagoon offers a wilder, more natural beach experience than Velipoja. With a few exceptions, the handful of hotels and guesthouses are set well away from the 4-kilometre long sand beach, which is surrounded by small lakes, dunes and forests. The beach is backed by a low mountain ridge, and a hiking path leads up to the top of Maja e Zezë, the black peak.
