Underground Tourist Passage in Jarosław
Jarosław lay on an ancient trade route and was famous for its crowded fairs. Space was required to store merchants' goods and corridors were created under the tenement houses, creating a bizarre network of underground labyrinths. Today, this underground network is a pivotal part of the cultural heritage of the city.
The Underground Tourist Passage will take you around the subterranean networks of three magnificent merchant tenement houses: Orsetti, Attavanti and Gruszewicz. En route you can visit 11 rooms presenting exhibitions on: ceramics, a bourgeois kitchen with cooking facilities from the 16th and 17th centuries, etc. This tour is innovative, lots of fun and has an interactive multimedia focus. Tours are with a guide or audioguide and take 90mins. Larger groups call in advance.
