The museum is housed on several floors of Sanok Castle and includes a stunning collection of Orthodox and Greek Catholic art which gathers over 1200 exhibits in total, including early examples of church art, icons and liturgical objects. There is a also an exhibition of Roman Catholic sacral art from the 15th century. Among the other notable exhibitions in the museum is the largest collection of works by Zdzisław Beksiński in the world (numbering around 600 works including sculptures and photos). There is even a recreation of his Warsaw studio. It's a brief glimpse into the dark soul of this creative mastermind, surely one of the most intriguing contemporary artists of his generation.
