A popular and scenic location for picnics in the spring and summer, Kamenica hill sits 750-800metres above sea level, overlooking the city (14km away) and surrounding countryside. Despite the altitude the slopes are gentle and partially covered with wooded areas. On a clear day, the highest peak in Serbia, Midžor (2156m) is visible to the east, as is Suva Planina (dry mountain - 1810m) to the south-west. The hunter's restaurant at the top of Kamenica hill (Kod Šipe) serves excellent game meat and even better rakija.
