Imperial Porcelain Manufactory

  Nevsky pr. 60 ,   City Centre-1          (+7) 812 571 32 62     more than a year ago
One of the oldest European works, the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory established in 1744 by Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter I. It was originally an imperial plant and it produced the table-ware of the tsars.
Today artistic value remains unrivalled as it was two centuries and a half ago. Products stand out for the perfect combination of centuries-long traditions and modern trends and technologies.
Nowadays the "Imperial Porcelain Manufactory" produces about 4,000 types of products in a wide range:  from tea, coffee and dinner sets, genre and animal sculptures, decorative plates. They are made of solid and bone china. Products are decorated in overglaze and underglaze painting, frequently using the rare and precious metals. The manufactory produces replicas of the museum's collection of XVIII-XX centuries.   For decades the set «Cobalt net» (S. E. Yakovleva, A. A. Yatskevich), hallmark of the manufactory, is in the great demand. It was awarded a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels.
There is a shop and a museum in the factory (Pr. Obukhovskoy Oborony 151, metro Lomonosovskaya), where there are tours in English. Shops also at Vladimirsky pr. 7, Nevsky pr. 160 and more.
