Antiques are everywhere in Poland and there is no shortage of possibilities for their purchase in Katowice. Serious shoppers will find that the best items end up in the proper antique stores ('Antyki,' 'Antykwariat'), rather than outdoor markets. Remember, if you are taking art that is more than 50 years old and of a potentially high value, you'll need the proper paperworks and permissions (see Basics).
