The first week of the month is always a busy one in Joburg, and several places have recurring events to help you celebrate that salary in style. Here are all the events you can add to your calendar to make sure you're starting December right.

From 17:00 – All the naughty kids gather at Detention Radio’s Night School at Bad Manors with a fun line-up of DJs.
From 17:00Keyes Art Mile's galleries and restaurants stay open late to bring you Keyes Art Night – enjoy new exhibitions, tasty eats, and live music. 
From 17:00 – Step into the night with the Before You Kill Us night walk by Funk It I'm Walking and Soweto Night Out. Experience history, culture, and community in Soweto while supporting the fight against gender-based violence.
From 18:00 – Become an artist with Wine & Create Social Club at Artwave Studio at 44 Stanley. This Thursday's edition includes a social still-life drawing session.
From 18:00 – Wrap up 2024 with banging beats and drink specials at first Thursdays at The Gallery Art Bar in Illovo.
From 18:00Play Braam extends its hours for a night full of tasty food and drinks, local art, and clothing labels.
From 18:00 – Gaming meets good times with Grass Roots JHB's park hangout, pizza samples, and FIFA battles at their first Thursday chill in Rivonia.
From 18:30 – Head over to Arbour Café's courtyard for some fresh tunes.
From 17:00 – Sip on R70 margaritas and groove to the beats at Thirsty Thursday at The Royale.
From 19:00 – Catch Tefo Mahola’s bold and experimental soundscape with Ngoku, a powerful journey through spoken word and melody, live at chiesa di PAZZO LUPi in Melville.
From 19:30 Kopano Jazz Collective play in a fun night of Afrobeats at Sin+Tax in Rosebank.
