La Parada is bright, humming with life and welcoming. The space is an Instagrammer's delight with fresh greenery hanging from the ceiling, an impressive bar counter, tasteful furniture, and a large mural of a vibrant flamenco dancer. It all contributes to a lively atmosphere – along with the added attraction of a spacious and pretty terrace.
The restaurant is split into two — on one side is the open kitchen, long tables for large groups as well as more intimate round tables, comfy layers and bright yellow cushions. On the other side the restaurant is full of energy with an impressively fully-stocked bar presenting just about every kind of liquor you can think of (we marvelled watching the barmen climb short ladders to grab the bottles on the top shelf). The terrace seating is a hit for warmer days shisha is available.
We have visited twice since opening – and while we love the look and feel, and the busy bar atmosphere we recommend La Parada as a place for drinks, and meeting up with friends.
A tapas joint inspired by Spanish cuisine, it's designed for bringing a crowd and sharing plates so you get to try an assortment of dishes. There are also larger mains on the menu and an array of vegetarian and vegan options available. The menu is a bit of a continental mash-up as it also includes a sushi menu and pizza. While we tried a number of dishes we rate the pizza highest. And if you have room for dessert, try the churros with a chocolate ganache dip.
The wine list is impressive with champagne, MCC, white and red blends, beers and ciders and plenty of hard brown liquor — If you can think of it, you can ask for it. The cocktail menu is full of colour and designed for a boozy brunch.
For the music lovers, La Parada turns into a party on the weekend evenings with DJ sets playing a variety of genres including House music, Hip Hop, RnB, Afro Beats and plenty more that'll have you dancing all night long.
What makes this space special is its inclusivity. It has a wide-ranging appeal. From Tiktokers to date night, and across age groups – it's a lovely space to hang out.
