What makes Zaraće so unique among Hvar beaches is the huge rock on its seaward side, a smooth grey mass of stone that looks like a grounded zeppelin or a beached whale. Clamber on the rock or park yourself on one of the shingle coves on either side. There's a restaurant behind the beach. Zaraće is accessed by a very narrow road with limited parking at the bottom - bikes or mopeds seem to provide the best means of arrival.
