Varied beach life is one of Hvar's key attributes, and there are a lot of sunny strands to take in. There are several rocky perches on the seaside pathway that leads west from the town centre. where a couple of beach bars rent out sun-loungers. Occupying an inter-war Art-Deco pavilion, the Hvar Beach Club rents out changing cabins and sunny spots on its piers. Podstine, at the western end of town, is a traditional beach with a sloping crescent of shingle and a lively bar. 
Outside the town lies an array of seductive beaches, each with a different character and atmosphere. Taxi boats lead to most destinations from Hvar Town's harbour.
