The Danzig Senate sat in a building on the site where you will now find the administration building of the local city government on the corner of ul. Nowe Ogrody and ul. 3-go Maja. The original building was a lot more ornate than the one you’ll find today. Built in the years 1882-1886 at a cost of 1,350,000 Marks it was originally designed as offices for the Oberpräsidium and Regierung (the Prefecture and Government). Re-designated as the Senate of Freie Stadt Danzig, the building was badly damaged in WWII and subsequently demolished.
