The PURO brand have taken Poland by storm in recent years with the development of smart, modern, well priced and well-located new hotels. The experience begins with the relative novelty of self-check-in, though fear not there are also staff on-hand to help out. Then you receive your key card which does more than let you into your room and hold the power switch on, such as to turn on the coffee machine in the lobby bar so you can pour yourself a free coffee. The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent with many rooms overlooking the atrium in the centre of the hotel. You’re on Granary Island so the main street of Gdańsk old town is a mere 2 minutes walk away and despite the island being a hub of construction at the moment, the hotel was remarkably quiet when we visited. The quality, at these prices and in this location makes it highly recommendable. There are also Play Stations and bicycles available for guests to rent.
