A gallery dedicated to remembering the work of Danzig-born Nobel Prize Winner for Literature, Günter Grass. Grass was best known for his writing but he was a multi-talented artist and this gallery, which includes explanations of the exhibits in English and German as well as Polish, showcases various works which have either been purchased by the city or borrowed from the Grass Library in Lubeck. Those speaking Grass’ native German will get the most from reading the framed manuscript pages or listening to Grass speeches being played on the headsets.
This gallery is part of the Gdańska Galeria Miejska (ENG: Gdańsk City Gallery) institution, also known as the Gdańsk Municipal Gallery, opened in March 2009. You will also find Gallery #1 on ul. Piwna and Gallery #2 on ul. Powroźnicza. While these galleries are dedicated to the work of local artists and local themes, they also host international artists and exhibitions. Check out our What's On? section for any events currently being displayed.
