The Baltic Sea is the main source of amber in the world, making Poland one of its main exporters (If you don’t know what it is, think of the brown substance the mosquito from Jurassic Park got stuck in). The Historical Museum of Gdańsk is preparing a special exhibition on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Amber Museum wing of the 8 branch museum complex. For the occasion, the museum has spruced up its collection and has borrowed other pieces related to amber from other museums dedicated to the “jewel”. This exhibition screams Gdańsk, so if you are looking for something uniquely local, this is it.
