Archaeological finds prove that Veldhoven was already a revered destination in the Stone Age, but much has changed in town since then. Today Veldhoven's thriving community has become an increasingly popular place for foreign expats to settle. Modern recreational amenities are available, which makes it a vibrant municipality that organises both fun and interesting events. A city and a town rolled into one, modern-day Veldhoven is comprised of four parishes (Meerveldhoven, Veldhoven, Zeelst and Oerle), each with its own identity.
