The city council of Eindhoven transformed the former Philips physics laboratory at Strijp S into a cultural complex for a mere €14 million. In the warm summer months open air movies are screened here on Friday nights and a gay film is shown every last Sunday of the month at 19:30. Plaza Futura houses five film halls and the offerings range from art house and YouTube clips to small independent productions and digital video art.
