If you ever wondered why there are always long queues at Catharinaplein, Happy Italy is to blame. Although this Dutch chain of restaurants has only recently set foot in Eindhoven, it’s already a favourite among locals in the know. It serves a wide range of tasty pizzas, antipasti and salads for affordable prices and it’s a great place for large groups as well as couples with kids. Daredevils can even try the pizza Nutella, which actually doesn’t taste as odd as one would expect despite all of the chocolate. Happy Italy offers a trendy décor with lots of little Italian touches not to mention an impressive portrait of actor Marlon Brando of The Godfather. All leftovers are neatly packed away, which is a pleasant surprise given Holland's unusual distaste for doggie bags. Bear in mind that only cards are accepted so keep your cash in your wallet.
