As a railway hub and formerly critical gateway between east and west, the train station is quite large and usually bustling. There's a cloakroom (110 dinars for 24hours) inside the building, restaurant, phone-booth and an exchange office and ATM can be found just across the street. The centre is a 20 minute walk north-east from the station. If you don't feel like dragging your luggage through unfamiliar streets, buses into the centre are frequent. Taxis are also available but as usual we recommend calling a trusted local firm.
