In this so-called 'vegetarian butchery' and grocery store you can buy sausages, cordon bleu, tartar and even Geschnetzeltes (needed to prepare the local speciality Züri Gschnetzlets), but it's all vegetarian or even vegan, made with meat alternatives such as tofu, seitan (wheat gluten) and tempeh (soy cakes). Even more surprising is that all of this stuff is quite tasty. After all, Hiltl has over 100 years of experience in vegetarian food, which you can also sample at one of its many restaurants in the city.
