Gelato fever seems to have hit Zurich and one of the latest offerings is Tellhof, where the selection of flavours is huge, including proper Italian ice cream and even vegan sorbets. We tried the traditional vanilla and chocolate combination, and although we found the vanilla a touch too sweet, the chocolate was exactly how we like it - bittersweet and a good match with the vanilla. Every time you order you're also encouraged to try an additional tiny taster ball of a different flavour no doubt to ensure repeat business, a clever idea. The same can be said of the free tap water which you can pour yourself. You can also create your own sundae or take away your ice cream in an insulated box. A small café-like seating area is available as well. In summer they run an ice cream stand called Gelati am See at the lake shore next to Chinawiese.
