Situated in the former Löwenbräu brewery, which now serves as one of Zurich's main arts and culture destinations, elmira is a unique concept restaurant that seamlessly blends the best aspects of contemporary fine dining with the intimacy of being invited over to an old friend's house for dinner. The menu consists of either a 5- or 7-course meal, which are prepared with exclusively seasonal, and almost entirely regional, ingredients. Both meat-based and plant-based versions are available, so vegans and vegetarians need not worry, while as an added touch each dish is personally served by the chefs themselves.

Fixed prices of CHF 240 and CHF 290 (for 5- and 7-courses) also include all drink pairings (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) during the meal, as well as water, coffee and even additional courses if requested by the guests. In order to maintain the intimate, convivial atmosphere of the evening at the 26-seat elmira, payment for the experience is required in advance, which means guests are able to relax and leave at the end of the night without having to request the cheque, just as if at a friend's house.
