Decorated with stage props from the adjoining theatre of the same name, not to mention the opera (take a look at the operating room lamp over the bar), Bernhard is a snug place for a coffee break with some snacks or possibly even lunch or dinner. Try its Flammkuchen (thin Alsatian pizza), especially our favourite with four different kinds of cheeses. A daily, ever-changing menu is available for lunch and dinner and it also serves desserts including the unexpected combination of a carrot cake with chocolate cream, which we loved. When the theatre breaks for intermission the place is abuzz with the lively conversations of culture aficionados.
