The main hall of this traditional restaurant is quite impressive: the frescos above the wood panelled walls, the painted vaults, the stucco marble pillar in the centre and the mirrors with their rich baroque frames. The food is traditional, hearty and good. They have Zurich classics like geschnetzeltes and rösti, tripe Zurich style or calf’s head. But they also have less daring food like bratwurst (try the local Wiediker Roastbratwurst made with extra herbs, we love them), schnitzel and sirloin steaks. A good place to explore hearty Swiss cuisine.

Riga To be honest, we only came here after we saw the daunting line at the Zeughauskeller only a few doors down, but were not at all disappointed. Quite the opposite. Great, friendly service and huge portions of Swiss cuisine like the kalbsbratwust with rosti we had. Delicious!
