No matter how hard the world tries, not everything fits neatly into categories and boxes. That’s how we like it, of course, and Zagreb has no shortage of exciting experiences that are truly unique and unconventional. You could spend a lifetime in the classical museums, galleries and traditional restaurants, but these delights are of a different sort.
Zagreb is an increasingly diverse city, so it shouldn’t be surprising to discover a little haven of homemade African comfort cuisine. MamaVeek's is just that, serving dishes inspired by the rich tapestry of flavours and cultures of West Africa. There are also frequent special events, classes and more, adding extra layers of charm to some seriously delicious food.
Kimchi tends to bring out our gluttonous side here at In Your Pocket, so you better believe we’re excited about Coco House. The “Queen of Kimchi” moniker is backed up by intense flavour and fabulous presentation, alongside other Korean classics in a delightful environment. If you like your food colourful, exciting and (maybe most importantly) delicious, Coco House is ready for you.
This special festival brings together many of the finest wine producers from around Croatia, showcasing independent businesses and the country’s increasingly brilliant wine scene. Oh, and by the way, it all takes place in a tunnel. A tunnel might not seem the most obvious place for a wine festival, but Grič is no ordinary tunnel. Over three days, Grič will transform into Croatia’s biggest wine cellar, and the festival will be accentuated by a range of events covering everything from the wine of the future to live music and more. Europe’s most unique wine festival? It could well be this.
