The Zagreb City Theater "Comedy" will soon present the premiere of one of its most lavish projects to date, the legendary musical "Les Miserables". The grandiose epic story about the prevaillance of the human spirit that we all know so well, will, in this version be directed by the internationally awarded director Stanislav Moša. He will be accompanied on stage by a strong and excellent cast, a choir, soloists, ballet dancers and an orchestra. The premiere will take place on November 30.
'The Necks' is an Australian trio consisting of pianist Chris Abrahams, drummer Tony Buck and double bassist Lloyd Swanton. Their musical style, which they have been known for for over three decades, is characterized by long and repetitive compositions with a lot of improvisation, free spirit, energy and an open mind. They are of course, only one of the many big names that will perform at the NO Jazz Festival, an international festival of new jazz that will be held from November 11 - 24 at the Lauba gallery and in the Vintage Industrial Bar in Zagreb.
Nipplepeople, a Croatian electro pop group, will perform at the Boogaloo club in Zagreb on November 17. The group is made up of a mysterious masked duo whose hits are characterized as "electronic music done right", having been included within the list of the “ten biggest musical hopes of the domestic scene”.
Svjetlarna Lovran is an immersive light festival that, with specially created audio-visual effects and animations, produced by laser projectors, revives the facades of buildings and houses in the medieval squares of Lovran. Every year on the last Saturday of November, a winter fair takes place alongside the tastiest and greasiest festival in Croatia, Čvarakfest. Both events take place in Karanac, therefore offering a variety of products from local producers. The goods range from Baranja wines, brandies, cheeses, cakes, honey, ground red pepper, woven baskets and souvenirs to meat products such as the traditional kulen, bacon, sausage, ham and of course, the famous pork cracklings after which Čvarakfest received its name. The contemporary dance studio in Zagreb is opening this new season with the premiere of 'All'Arme' by Italian choreographers Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi on November 8. In this choreographic work created for six dancers, Panzetti and Ticconi explore the rhythmic potential of the human step and the power of synchronized and collective movement.
