From the highest slope at Platak, near Rijeka, on a clear day you can see the Adriatic, with the islands of Krk, Cres and Lošinj laid out in front of you. That's why many Croatians vote it the best place to ski in the country. It's on the A3 Zagreb-Rijeka motorway, take the Čavle exit (Autmotodrom and Sportski Aerodrom) and turn left - it's another 15 km.
