Established in 1974 on the initiative of the State Radio and Television Committee, the Square Theater has featured numerous productions of Polish and English-language works over the years, as well as seeing many great Polish actors grace the stage: Ewa Wisniewska, Halina Kowalska, Stanisława Celinska, Irena Kwiatkowska, Barbara Rylska, Malgorzata Foremniak, Janusz Gajos, Krzysztof Kowalewski, Jerzy Bonczak, Jerzy Turek, Jan Kociniak, Wojciech Pokora and Tomasz Stockinger.
