Sinking your teeth into Charlotte’s pain au chocolate you expect to hear La Seine bubbling past, but instead it’s your waitress bringing giant jars of jams, honey and chocolate spread to dig into – this doesn’t look like typical French portion control. This French bakery/bistro is already a popular breakfast spot, and a communal table in the centre of the restaurant is a genius solution for the many solo diners ducking in for a pastry and a latte. The service at this start-up is still spotty, but considering the crowds it’s also understandable. Charlotte is the ideal place to sip a Perrier and nibble a tart without feeling like le snob. Visit their other spots at ul. Próżna 7, Nowy Świat 6/12 and ul. Kieślowskiego 7.

Great location on Pl. Zbawiciela, ideal for people watching and hipster gazing. Delicious breads and pastries and a fun atmosphere at night.

Bit 'm'as-tu vu' (look at me folks) as they say in France where being seen is all important but still not a bad place to drop by or meet up if in the area. The roast beef with lamb's lettuce is nicely rare as it should be. Indeed to say that service can be spotty is putting it lightly. But who thinks about those things when the beau monde of Warsaw is swanning in and out or lingering over some pastry or all day breakfast..
