BEM! the musical tells the story of Józef Bem, a Polish general, an Ottoman pasha and a national hero of Poland and Hungary, and a figure intertwined with many other European patriotic movements. The musical is sort of an insane historical roller coaster, light hearted, hilarious, and moving at the same time. It gives an account of the serious story through the prism of laughter, hence avoiding the typical "puffed up" attitude historical facts are often treated with. The spectacle is the co production of the three theatres -Syrena, Pożar w Burdelu and Kielce's Żeromski Theatre. The script was written by Maciej Łubieński and the music composed by Wiktor Stokowski.
