Founded in 1965 as the first non-Communist cultural institute behind the Iron Curtain, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw continues to be a platform for dialogue, cultural and social exchange. It initiates, supports and organizes cultural and scientific projects, as well as events for mutual understanding and establishing lasting contacts. The Forum carries out its program in accordance with Austrian foreign cultural policy and in close cooperation with numerous partners throughout Poland. Both the artistic and social dimensions of the projects and their substantive quality are important in the Forum's activities. At the core of the Forum's activities is the concept of culture in its broadest sense, encompassing all fields of artistic and cultural creativity. The Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw is an active member of EUNIC Warsaw and held its Presidency in 2020.
