Užićić Palace

  Petra Hektorovića 8     09 Jul 2024
Overlooking the main square from its perch on stepped Groda is the Užićić Palace, commonly misnamed Hektorović Palace. It is one of those buildings that charms the pants off almost everyone who sees it, thanks to the ornate Venetian Gothic window frames that adorn its top storey. This mid-15th century building is an unusual sentinel beckoning you in towards a quarter of handsome stone houses an tightly-drawn alleys. At ground level look for a drinking fountainin a niche that looks like a cupboard
bordered with vegetal carvings and a trio of feline heads overlooking the tap.
