A town of some 42,000 people located just 30km or so north of Tuzla, Srebrenik is famous for its iconic fortress, arguably one of the finest in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That castle dominates tourist activity in the town but don’t go thinking that this place is a one-trick pony, far from it, and the town named after a blacksmith’s secret money workshop is also surrounded by some seriously sumptuous nature. This place was once the capital of Bosnia, the chosen town of the Kotromanić dynasty, and those famous kings and queens would certainly be happy to bed down here in the modern age.
