Gradačac isn’t all about the fiery dragon. Just outside the town centre we find two artificial lakes, perfect for cooling off after a morning of sightseeing and overthrowing the Ottoman Empire. Vidara is the larger of the two, with the smaller Hazna coming into being when its bigger contemporary flooded Gradačac in 1964. Both lakes go through stages of maintenance, but this is getting better with time, and the lakes are on track to becoming every bit as popular as they were before the war.
